Birds!

  I grew up with birds in the house and  began breeding birds when I was in elementary school.  I raised finches,  cockatiels and budgies.  In 1979, I specialized in Asian Parakeets of the genus Psittacula . I have raised hundreds of birds over the years by handrearing and allowing the parents to raise babies on their own. 

Both methods are efficient and it should be noted that I have not observed any significant difference in the desire or ability to nest or rear young from pairs handfed or parent reared, generation after generation.  

There are eleven nominant species in the world in the Psittacula genus, but only nine available species in the United States.  I have raised all of the available species, plus several subspecies. This is an extraordinary group of birds and they deserve their reputation of being the feathered jewels of the avian world!  I am available to speak at conventions, clubs and zoos regarding the care and breeding of Asian parakeets of the Psittacula genus.
